Who are the Association of Friends ?
The Association of Friends of Zetland Court (AFZC) is a registered Charity No 296598. Our aim is to raise funds and awareness about the amazing Home that is Zetland Court. Because, with the funds, we can provide extra comforts and a range of social, leisure and entertainment activities for the residents and extra facilities, that are beyond the scope of the RMBI Care packages.
How do the Association of Friends raise money ?
The Association of Friends raise money for the Home in several different ways.
By encouraging Lodges and individuals to be “Annual Sponsors” or “Grand Patrons” of the Home. (More details on the “Become a Member Page”).
We run fund raising events, like the annual Summer Fete linked to the Annual Grand Draw, The Summer Music Event, called Zetfest and the annual Christmas Fair.
Sometimes we approach Lodges or individuals for help or donations for specific projects.
How can you help ?
Consider becoming an Annual Sponsor or Grand Patron. You could give some time to the fund raising events that are organised throughout the year and support these just by attending the events. Come along to volunteer to help at the Home, befriend residents or help the social care team with activities. We are always looking to recruit more volunteers to drive residents to appointments or outings in the minibus or car. Helping us on “work days”, these are usually arranged a couple of times a year. On these days we do jobs in the garden, like hedge trimming, general clearance work or fence painting. They are really good fun.
